Standing Committee of the Board

Statutorily, in order to facilitate the effective performance of its functions, the Board has two Standing Committees, namely:

  • Board appointment and Promotion Committee (BAPC); and
  • Board Disciplinary and General Purpose Committee (BDGPC)

Board Appointment and Promotion Committee (BAPC)

Under the chairmanship of one of the Commissioners, it has the other Commissioner and the Chiefs of the Services, the Legal Adviser of the Ministry and the Secretary of the Board as members. An administrative Officer from the Secretariat of the Board, usually Head of the Appointment and Promotion Division, is Secretary to this Committee that handles, on preliminary and advisory basis, issues relating to appointment and promotion (including upgrading, advancement, transfer of service and secondment).

Board Disciplinary and General Purpose Committee (BDGPC)

Under the chairmanship of one of the Commissioners, it has the other Commissioner, the Chiefs of Services, the Legal Adviser of the Ministry and the Secretary of the Board, as members. An Administrative Officer from the Secretariat, usually Head of the Discipline and General Purpose Division, is Secretary to this Committee that handles, on preliminary and advisory basis, matters relating to disciplinary control and general purpose functions of the Board.
